When it comes to Hollywood’s silver-tongued stars, there aren’t even a few who can compare to the legendary Ricky Gervais. From roasting some of the world’s most popular and influential identities to infuriating entire communities with his dark sense of humor, there’s nothing like this. Office star has not done in his career. He is also well known for appearing as emcee at the Golden Globes Awards multiple times in a row.
And knowing his personality, when asked by a fan if he also wanted to host the 2023 Golden Globes Awards, he got the simplest yet comical response, sticking to his nature.

After a fan shared a video of Gervais hosting the 2020 Hollywood ceremony for the fifth time, the Twitter user asked to retweet the clip “if you wish it [Gervais] would host the Golden Globes again in 2023.”

And as you might expect from Gervais, his answer was simple.

Why will Ricky Gervais no longer animate it?
His comment comes as the Hollywood Foreign Press will return to televise its event in 2023 after the 2022 ceremony was reduced to a press release following backlash for their lack of diversity. Meanwhile, in a 2021 interview, Gervais talked about his approach to organizing these types of events and knowing who his audience is.
“Am I flattering the 200 billionaires in the room or the 200 million people at home sitting in their [underwear] drinking beer who don’t win awards, who aren’t billionaires? » he told the Guardian.
Lately, Gervais has also been filming for his Netflix special supernatural, and says he is happy with what he is doing right now.
