Hugh Jackman crushed Chris Hemsworth’s dreams with his return in Deadpool 3 as Wolverine

Chris Hemsworth’s Aspiration To Be The Longest-Lasting Marvel Hero Is Cut Short

During an interview with BBC Radio 1, Chris Hemsworth has come to realize that he’s been playing Thor for 11 years now, nearly setting a record for being the longest-serving Marvel superhero. This record was unfortunately only limited to the record set by Hugh Jackman, having his reign from 2000 to 2017.

“I wasn’t going, but now that you put this in front of me, you make a good point,” the actor said. “It’s only been six years, I’ve come this far. Going back now would be a waste.

Once made aware of the six-year gap between the two, Hemsworth tied his shoelaces and prepared for another six years as the character to assume the title held by Hugh Jackman for 16 years. This, however, would no longer be the case with Jackman’s return as Wolverine in Deadpool 3. Hugh Jackman first graced the Wolverine title in the 2000s XMen, continuing to appear as the character in 7 films, Logan being his last appearance. The film showed the character’s death, so there was no discussion of his return. This is wrong now with Dead Pool 3 not only his debut in the MCU, but also his career as Wolverine from age 16 to 21.

Chris Hemsworth first starred in the MCU in 2011 in the title role of Thor. He has since played the character until today, making it an 11-year career with 8 appearances. Thor: Love and Thunder marked his final addition as a character. Hemsworth may not have the record for Marvel’s longest career, but he certainly surpasses Jackman with the most appearances.
