Unfortunately, in November 2018, the series was canceled. Crime-fighter fans were blessed nonetheless when Matt Murdock made his official MCU debut in Spider-Man: No Coming Home. Such inclusion kindled a flame of hope in the hearts of many.

Even recently, the character of Charlie Cox was seen making an appearance in She-Hulk: lawyer, which garnered remarkable traction. To smooth things over, the originally canceled series will now see a soft reboot below the Disney+ threshold. At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige himself confirmed the news of Cox’s highly anticipated return.
Consequently, things are looking up for the hugely talented actor who has portrayed a wonderful iteration of the Man Without Fear with delicacy and intensity. However, long before Daredeville left an impressionable mark on the minds of many fans, Cox’s humble and grounded nature charmed audiences left and right. In a 2015 interview, The theory of everything alum opened up about the exciting possibilities that arose after they struck the Marvel deal with Netflix.
Daredevil Star Charlie Cox Was Happy To Have A Job
Speaking to HeyUGuys, Charlie Cox expressed the relief he felt when his highly acclaimed Netflix series was renewed for a second season. Apparently the Legacy the actor had received the news at the same time as everyone else. This was confirmed to him by e-mail.
After acknowledging the tremendous news, Cox happily remarked, “I was like…I have a job!” Additionally, the spectacularly talented and charming actor expressed his gratitude for the fan reception the show has garnered.
Here is what he told the interviewer:
“You know, I felt like the response was so great. People have been so excited about the show. And it looks like Netflix and Marvel are really happy with the product.
Due to such a staggering response, Cox had assumed the possibility of a second season was “on the cards.” He was hopeful that such feelings would translate into a potential revival of the series. The MCU star also attested to how much fun he had on set while filming Netflix daredevil.

He then concluded by saying that it is a “dream job” in more ways than one. The opportunity to have a second season was dear to the actor. What Cox didn’t know then was that he was going to steal the hearts of many, and that upon the show’s unfortunate cancellation in 2018, zealous audiences would be campaigning day and night for MCU to pick up the show again.
It was truly a wonderful trip not only for the daredevil actor but also fans of the franchise.
Charlie Cox discussed the difference between TV and Netflix
On the subject of the differences between weekly episodic releases and Netflix’s binge-watching format, Cox offered his opinion as someone involved with both media. According to the actor, the main contrast lies in the quality of the writing. The recent era of content has wired the minds of the public in such a way that the traditional television viewing style is becoming redundant day by day.
With the Netflix series, there is no need to wait. From a writing perspective, there’s no room for cliffhangers or an active ability to build anticipation (unless it’s a volume-based release) because it does not suit the structure.

Another quirk of Netflix’s format prohibits the show from having weekly reminders of what happened in the last episode. You can watch the series all at once, without having to wait seven days in between. It’s modeled around convenience.
Here’s what Charlie Cox had to say about Netflix’s series structure:
“As a by-product of [the format], the quality of the writing… the character arcs and the plots can be a lot, you know, lengthened and a lot more subtle. And it’s more like a 13 hour movie.
The sentiment is truthful but also quite intriguing, especially now that Daredevil: Born Again will most likely adhere to Disney+’s existing structure, which relies on weekly releases. It is quite obvious that the change in style and quality of writing will be evident with a change in structure.
However, one can only hope that the soft reboot doesn’t diminish the legacy left by the Netflix series. Fans can only pray that Matt Murdock’s character gets justice. Either way, Charlie Cox has come a long way as an actor and performer and audiences can’t wait to see his artistic flair shine again.
Daredevil: Born Again will be released on Disney Plus in the spring of 2024.
