Rhaenyra Vs. Alicent is coming

Whoo! What an end to House of the Dragon episode eight, hinting at the clashes between Alicent Hightower, the widow of King Viserys I Targaryen, and Rhaenyra Targaryen’s mother-in-law. We have already seen how these girls despise each other and are willing to get violent to get what they want.

Now that the episode nine trailer is out, it’s the closest thing we fans have to speculate what might be coming in the next episode. Now that Viserys Targaryen is dead, tensions will rise, politics may take place, and there will be bloodshed. Let’s see what might happen in next week’s episode.

Alicent Hightower The new Cersei Lannister?

We all know Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones loved her children more than anything. We all remember the infamous King’s Landing Citadel blowing up using wildfire when Cersei thought the trial wasn’t good for her son Tommen and the kingdom. Alicent doesn’t seem much different when it comes to her complicity, her intelligence, and her incredible efforts to protect her children.

In episode seven, Alicent loses her emotional self and attacks her daughter-in-law and the king’s daughter with a dagger. Don’t be surprised if she does something extreme in future episodes.

Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower is absolutely brilliant

With only two episodes remaining this season, the chances of a major battle scene are increasing. This scene could very well be Alicent doing something drastic like Joffrey Baratheon did in Game of Thrones Season One Episode Nine by removing Ned Stark’s head. If a battle doesn’t happen, there’s no denying the show’s writers will show something dramatic and cliff-hangar-like by the end of the season.

In the episode nine trailer, Alicent is seen saying that King Viserys, her husband, told her that their eldest son Aegon II Targaryen would be king. This conflicts with Rhaenyra being queen and heir to King Viserys. This could turn out to be a major storyline for season two.

Maybe Otto Hightower desperately wants Aegon to be king.

There’s a scene in the episode nine trailer where we see a few lords kneel before the king’s former hand, Otto Hightower, father of the widowed Queen Alicent. It is assumed that Otto announces Aegon, the eldest son of King Viserys, as heir to the throne.

Otto High Tower

It is also mentioned in the books that Rhaenyra escapes to Dragonstone with her uncle, Daemon Targaryen. Perhaps we’ll witness it in next week’s episode if Otto announces Aegon as heir.

Who is the mysterious Targaryen child?

We are shown a glimpse of a child with silver hair in what looks like a dungeon. Fans are arguing over who this child might be. Another bastard of Rhaenyra? There’s no denying that he’s a Targaryen due to his silver hair, and he seems to play a big role as well. otherwise, he would not be mentioned in the preview for episode nine.

What is Aemond up to?

Aemond Targaryen is the second son of Alicent, more notorious than her older brother and possible heir to the Iron Throne. After taming Vhagar, the world’s greatest dragon, Amend is now feared in the Seven Kingdoms. In the episode nine trailer, you see him wearing a black balaclava and walking around. He seems to be planning something, and we can all be excited about what he’s up to.

Aemond Targaryen

In the trailer, he is shown meeting another person in a black balaclava. It looks like an organized effort to achieve something. Or did he meet Daemon somewhere? Only time can tell how this will unfold.

Will HOTD Episode Nines be dramatic like GoT?

As the ninth episode of all seasons of Game of Thrones was action-packed, the same can be expected from House of the Dragon. We all remember that Ned Stark died in season one, episode nine of Game of Thrones, which major character could die next week in House of the Dragon?
