Episode Eight, Nice Easter Egg: Daenerys’ three dragon eggs in GoT Season 1, and now Daemon places three Syrax Dragon Eggs warm in HOTD Episode 8. As Rhaenyra rides Syrax, her dragon children would likely bond with one of Rhynaera’s sons. .
One thing to note in episode eight was that Rhaenyra named her eldest son she had with Daemon (her uncle and…husband) after Queen Alicent and King Viserys’ firstborn, Aegon II Targaryen. Also, just before the death of King Viserys, he tells his wife Alicent of Aegon the Conqueror’s inspired dream by which he had built the Iron Throne and united the Seven Kingdoms. Alicent can take this as a green signal to place her son Aegon on the Iron Throne. This will lead to a civil war, which can be shown in episode nine, as it is a tradition to stuff the action into the ninth episode.
Dragon eggs will prove important in the wars to come.
Who will be the three Dragon Riders?
When you see three dragon eggs in House of the Dragon, obviously there will also be three horsemen. As Daemon holds the eggs, it will most likely be his sons and one of Rhaenyra’s bastards (just look at their hair!). However, this is the Game of Thrones universe. Much like we saw Aemond “steal” a dragon in episode seven (and lose an eye of it), we can’t be certain who will get which dragon.
We know we could soon see an Aegon vs. Aegon situation. It would be quite interesting to see Aegon, the eldest son of Rhaenyra, and Daemon riding one of the dragons. Obviously, one Aegon will be much more powerful than the other if the dragon situation goes well.
But what does Daemon intend to do?
Before we start fantasizing about who will ride the dragons, we first need to know why Daemon Targaryen took them on in the first place. The possibilities are limitless.
Fans may have figured out a lot about the show, but no one knows what Daemon wants. We saw that Daemon is ready to go against his own family when he steals one of Rhaenyra’s dragon eggs and brings it to Dragonstone. He can even keep the eggs he stole in episode eight for himself.
