So Netflix is trying every step of the way to ensure that whatever sticks to its wall of blockbusters continues with sequels. So what happens when you hire the world’s most consistent superstars with greatest hits production records one after the other?
Well, you’re getting one of Netflix’s highest-grossing movies of all time, red notice.
And true to their model, Netflix has confirmed that sequels are in production and may be available to audiences sooner than they think.

Before red notice had even been created, there were already talks about potential sequels. Next red notice, two sequels have been officially greenlit and will be filmed back-to-back. The red notice the producers have shared an update on these sequels.

In an interview with Collider, producers Beau Flynn and Hiram Garcia gave a thumbs up for future sequels. Although production hasn’t started yet, there’s a lot going on in the background.
Flynn: “Well we have a ‘Red Notice 2’ script and almost [Red Notice] 3. The plan is hopefully if Hiram and I manage to make these movies back to back. But it will all depend on the scripts and how we feel and how Dwayne, Gal and Ryan feel about them. But this franchise is awesome and obviously Netflix really wants it, and Rawson [Marshall Thurber, director, and screenwriter] is engaged. »
Adding to that, Garcia said:
“Yeah, Rawson (Marshall Thurber) is working and we were talking to him about it the other day. He’s deep into it and it’s his baby. is about to deliver to us very soon.

What justifies the sequels?
red notice premiered on Netflix on November 4, 2021 and is an action comedy film starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot and Ritu Arya. red notice received mixed to negative reviews from critics, but that didn’t stop it from attracting a huge following. The film set an opening day record on Netflix, gaining more viewership than any film had ever had on its premiere date. It went on to set other records, eventually becoming the most-watched film on Netflix within 28 days of its release.
With plenty of accolades under its belt, it was safe to assume we’d end up getting these supposed sequels in the future, and sure enough, the producers made fans of the film and its star cast more than happy.
Red Notice 2 could be released anytime around the 2023 holiday season.
