Charlie Cox, who plays Marvel’s Daredevil, is extremely grateful to his fans and the tremendous support they’ve shown him throughout his journey, and sincerely believes they’ve played a huge role in his character’s return to the screen.

He expressed his gratitude to everyone who was determined to bring his character back into the MCU on a more permanent basis and was thrilled to find out how many people believed in him. And he certainly wasn’t shy about accepting that without the audience, he might not even have been able to return as Daredevil.

A while back, Charlie Cox was interviewed at the D23 Expo, about his thoughts and feelings on finally becoming an official part of the MCU, now that his own series was in the works. He also revealed how willing he was to give up hope on Daredevil’s position at Marvel. “Emotionally, I had put that to bed,” he admitted. “This character was made for me” Cox agreed saying he felt he had no choice but to put him behind him.

But you know how sometimes certain moments in life seem surreal? Well it was just like that The defenders star resented his situation with Daredevil. “It’s too good to be true” he remarked.

It looks like MCU fans weren’t the only ones getting tons of excitement.

The Stardust star confessed that without his fans and their unwavering moral support, Daredevil: Born Again would not happen at all. He acknowledged them immensely, claiming that it was their faith in him and his work that was symbolized by the #SaveDaredevil Campaignwhich brought him back to the MCU.

“Look what they’ve accomplished” Cox said, beaming as he gushed that even when he was ready to give up the role, his fans were determined to fight for it.

“There was this amazing SaveDaredevil campaign,” the daredevil remarked the star. “And they’re so excited and trying to spread the word and trying to get signatures and stuff, and I’m at home thinking ‘guys, it’s over’.”

Cox also praised his crew members, mentioning how he worked with the “the most amazing creative people” from the very beginning. “We did something special and now we hope to do something even more special” he said in association with his upcoming show.

Daredevil: Born Again will be released on Disney+ in the spring of 2024.
