Fans are outraged by the high viewership of the Dahmer series
While the series has garnered a large number of viewers, many critics have given it low ratings, with a score of 52% on Rotten Tomatoes, at the time of this writing. Fans aren’t entirely happy with the attention given to the show. For them, it is one of the ways to exploit the families of the victims, to torment them again while the creators earn their fees. Many expressed their anger on Twitter:

Considering what endless exploitation like this means to the families of its victims, I don’t see how anyone can watch this Dahmer series in good conscience. You are only encouraging the studios to continue tormenting people who have lost loved ones in the most horrific way.

The series began to generate controversial reactions after one of the families of the victims revealed that the production team never asked their permission to adapt the case into a television series. In a note from InitiatedRita Isbell said Netflix should have asked what they think of this decision.

Obviously, the studio benefited so much from it, and Isbell said, “If the show somehow benefited them, it wouldn’t be so tough and reckless. It’s sad that they just make money from this tragedy. It’s just greed.”
Netflix initially didn’t announce the Dahmer series, but it surprisingly exploded, and within a week viewers were flocking to the platform to witness the story of a real-life serial killer. Disturbing, mentally draining and disgusting – these are some of the reactions from fans who saw it.
