In an endless quest to adapt every Spider-Man property into a movie, but not the web crawler itself, Sony has announced Madame Web would join his Spider-Man Universe (SSU). The film stars Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney and Adam Scott.

First appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #210, Madame Web was usually a supporting character for Spider-Man as she suffers from myasthenia gravis. She is a mutant who possesses psychic powers such as telepathy, clairvoyance, and foresight.
Who’s the bad guy?
Every superhero movie needs a villain, and it seems Madame Web has finally found hers. Based on a new video posted by Madame WebTahar Rahim’s character leaps through the air in a costume, which many believe to be Ezekiel Sims.
A wealthy businessman in Marvel comics, Ezekiel Sims has powers similar to Spider-Man. He appeared as an enemy and friend to the web crawler, while also becoming an Earth-4 version of Spider-Man.

Tahar Rahim has also been spotted wearing the Spider-Man inspired costume, meaning we could see him becoming Earth-4’s Spider-Man. Plus, given his murky morality in the comics, he could easily turn into an interesting antihero.
Will we see Peter Parker in Madame Web?
Although slightly hinted to be part of SSU, Tom Holland’s Spide-Man is still not confirmed to join the universe, but Peter Parker might be. Since Mary Parker, Peter Parker’s mother is confirmed pregnant in the movie, we might see Peter come into the movie at some point.

Also, in one of the Spider-Man arcs, a villain named Morlun hunts down Spider-Man and heroes like him to kill them. This is where Ezekiel comes in and controversially imprisons them in a secure room to prevent Morlun from becoming powerful.

This could open up the possibility for other Spider characters, including Spider-Women, and allow Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield to return as Spider-Man again. It can also allow SSU and MCU to finally have a solid bond by making Mary Parker’s baby, Peter Parker played by Tom Holland.
Madame Web is set to release on February 16, 2024.
