Ezra Miller’s off-screen actions have been pretty deplorable, and that’s nothing new. The 30-year-old actor, who broke into the acting industry with impressive performances in movies like Benefits of being a wallflower and We need to talk about Kevin created a lot of trouble for their PR team when they don’t fake it.
It was a bit surprising that none of their peers called them out given how big their role as Barry Allen/The Flash in the DCEU is. You might think it must be one of their DCEU co-stars or even Zack Snyder telling them to tone it down, but they’ve been slammed by the Marvel camp instead.

Issa Rae calls out Hollywood’s silence on Ezra Miller issues
Hollywood has an underlying problem that even the biggest players in the market seem to ignore – abusers get a free pass no matter how bad their actions.
This issue was brought to light when Miramax co-founder Harvey Weinstein, who literally has a Wikipedia page detailing sexual abuse cases he has committed, was put on trial by the theater industry after more than 80 women have made sexual/r*pe harassment allegations against the 70-year-old former movie producer.
The problem was that even though it was obvious that Weinstein had been doing these acts since the late 70s, no one dared to look into his actions and that in turn enabled his predatory behavior.

But those years have passed and positive changes are coming to Hollywood. Issa Rae, who will star as Spider-Woman in the upcoming Spider-Man: Through the Spider-Verse film showed us that she is determined to change this culture.
In a recent interview with Elle Magazine, the Insecure star calls Hollywood out for allowing Ezra Miller’s explosive behavior-
“I’m going to be real, what’s going on with Ezra Miller is, to me, a microcosm of Hollywood. There’s this person who is a repeat offender, who behaves in an atrocious way, and instead of shutting them up and stop production, there is an effort to save the film and them.
“This is a clear example of Hollywood’s efforts to save itself and protect offenders. So don’t do this, and maybe women can thrive. They won’t have to live in fear of themselves. shut up because it would ruin their careers. It’s just a constant pattern of abuse that will only persist if Hollywood continues to insist on it.
Ezra Miller’s actions are inexcusable, and Rae is right when she says such a pattern exists where Hollywood seems to turn a blind eye to the actions of its members.

Despite Hollywood’s continued silence on the whole issue, the internet has always been ready to put the fantastic beasts star on trial for their actions. Issa Rae’s recent comments on the state of Hollywood and her blatant empowerment of such actors, as she cites Miller as an example, only add fuel to the fire.
Twitter fans have been particularly vocal in their support for Rae and his lyrics-
Issa Rae is 100% correct. Ezra Miller is just one of thousands of white people in Hollywood who are not held accountable for the harm they cause.

There are layers to this-
It’s a matter of male privilege. It’s really a problem not being able to openly discuss male privilege.

Hollywood has a lot of choices! –
Absolutely! She also makes a big point about Hollywood exclusivity. Instead of finding new talent, you rehabilitate old problem areas and wonder why, overall, Hollywood has so many problems. Your point about Will Smith is exactly the problem too.

Fair point-
White people are literally obsessed with slapping Will Smith and completely ignoring Ezra’s crimes which are much worse.
