‘I just cried and cried’: Seth Green reveals he was just 9 when Bill Murray told him to ‘F**k Off’ because Green was sitting in his chair

In May 2022, the ghost hunters Actor Bill Murray found himself in the middle of a controversy that led to the suspension of the shooting of his latest film. It happened when a woman complained about his alleged behavior on set, which the actor said was that he was just being funny.

Now actor Seth Green has had his own experience, calling Bill Murray the rudest actor he’s ever met. It certainly doesn’t seem to favor the latter’s comments calling the previous incident just an attempt to be funny.

The Robot Chicken the actor left viewers with Good morning mythical in a certain incident of when he was on the set of Saturday Night Live like a nine year old.

According to Seth Green, while hanging out backstage in the Green Room with his mother and a few others SNL names, he asked if he could change the channel on the television. To this, Eddie Murphy replied that he could, but he would have to do it himself. Green said things were going well, that is, until Bill Murray walked into the room. Apparently, Murray was quick to make a fuss about the child actor for him.

“Bill Murray hosted the show, and as everyone knows, he’s great with the kids! He saw me sitting on the arm of that chair and made a big deal out of my presence for him. And I was like, ‘This is absurd. I’m sitting on the arm of this couch. There are several lengths of this sofa. Please F off.’ And he said, ‘That’s my chair.’ »

Green went on to recall the incident stating that when his mother suggested he leave “the Bill Murray” his seat back, he stood against Murray. What followed turned out to be why Green called him the rudest celebrity he had ever met.

“He grabbed me by my ankles, held me upside down. You have to remember, when I was nine, I was probably under four feet tall. So he hung me up- over a trash can, and he said to me, ‘The trash goes in the trash can!’ And I was screaming! Screaming!. He threw me in the trash. The trash is falling. I was horrified. I ran away and hid under the table in my dressing room, and just cried and cried .

Seth Green reveals he was so terrified (and embarrassed) that he refused to continue the show. After all, this is a nine-year-old we’re talking about. He only agreed to continue filming after Eddie Murphy and Tim Kazurinsky spoke to him saying that Murray was probably just “nervous” because he was hosting. They asked Green to “be the pro” and continue the show. This gave him a “the show must go on” attitude, and he eventually finished filming.

Even though Seth Green now remembers the incident with humor, one can imagine the fear the child felt hanging over a trash can.

It wasn’t the first time Bill Murray had been blamed for his bad behavior towards his co-stars. He had very recently settled an assault lawsuit against him. In another incident, Rob Schneider, who was also part of SNL revealed the The Jim Norton and Sam Roberts Show that Murray wasn’t particularly a pleasure to work with saying he wasn’t nice to cast members when he returned to host an episode in 1993. He also said that while Murray was nice to her fans, her co-stars were not subjected to similar treatment.
