How Damien Leone came up with the idea for his movie Slasher
Terrifying 2 follows a maniac called Art the Clown as he terrorizes a teenage girl on Halloween night. The idea came to Leone about a decade and a half ago. In his interview with Weekly entertainmenthe said:
“I had this idea of a clown terrorizing a woman on a city bus. She’s all alone, coming home from work or whatever, in the middle of the night, and then this clown comes up, and sits across from her, and starts watching her and playing with her. It’s awkward and uncomfortable, and maybe even funny, but it gradually becomes more intimidating and aggressive. I thought it was just an interesting and weird idea. When it came to doing my first short, I thought to myself, you know what, I’m going to use it, it’s going to be the opening.”
Whether the reports are a marketing ploy or real reactions from the audience, it proves effective because it gets more people to see the movie for themselves.

I just saw Terrifier 2. It was an incredible bloody mess. The guy behind me passed out and crashed into my chair, another guy left because he wasn’t feeling well, I heard him say and on my way out of the movie theater, I heard a guy throwing up loud and loud in the bathroom. #Terrifying2 @damienleone

Leone clearly did not expect this reaction and he felt overwhelmed by these reports on social media. The director claimed that the people coming out of the theater were a kind of badge of honor for him. This only proved how intense and gruesome the film is. But, he didn’t want anyone to get hurt either. “I don’t want people fainting or hurting themselves during the movie. But it’s surreal. Here’s the thing, it’s called Terrifier 2, you should probably see Terrifier 1 before you jump into ite,” Leone added.
It’s up to moviegoers to see if the film is as bloody as social media claims. Terrifying 2 is now showing in theaters.
