In 2016, in an interview with GQ Style magazine, Robert Downey Jr. let viewers discover his incredibly expensive, luxurious and varied collection of watches. The actor said: “You can tell a lot about a man if you open his jewelry box. And while he doesn’t have any tiaras or necklaces in his, he’s certainly filled to the brim with fancy watches.
He starts to take a look at his collection throwing down a watch saying, “I do not know.” Who knows? Maybe the watch was a bit cheaper for the man’s taste. Next, he shows off his Jaeger-LeCoultre, $92,000 watch he wore in Iron Man. The actor says it’s probably the best watch he has.
Next is an Omega watch which he describes as a “beautiful watch, very sporty.” However, he throws it aside saying they can”suck it » for he had no approval for them.
He continues the guided tour by showing the two Rolex watches in his collection. One was “black and shiny that he had his friend on his birthday, and apparently for him and the other was the “green money” Rolex. When asked why the Rolex was called “green money”, Robert Downey Jr. said: “I do not know. I just saw it and it was green, and probably not cheap. This goes so far as to say that the sherlock holmes the actor doesn’t play with his incredible collection of watches.
Then he shows a watch that had a bit of “shame” in his name – a Baume & Mercier – his grandfather’s watch which he used to start a pharmacy which was later arrested for filling out scripts for people forging their doctor’s signature.
He continues his watch collection by “calling out” Ben Stiller for not accepting a Bell & Ross as a gift, saying it was too big for him and he hasn’t spoken to Stiller since. He admits his lie saying it was actually Stiller who gave him the watch when they were done Thunder in the tropics.
He ends his collection with a $33,200 Patek Philippe his wife gave him for his birthday, a watch he has since come to love, saying it was the most glamorous watch he owns.

With a few offices in Venice Beach, a lavish estate in Malibu, crystals and vintage cars to his name, it’s safe to say that the actor knows he’s done well and loves living off this way. The guy even had pet alpacas!
Fans were extremely excited to look into the real life of their favorite Avenger and came to the conclusion that the man is not just playing billionaire Tony Stark, but that he himself is Tony Stark. Many joked that the character might even be inspired by the real-life character of Robert Downey Jr.
