Elizabeth Mitchell was born as Elizabeth Joanna Robertson on March 27, 1970 in Los Angeles, California, United States. His mother is Josephine Marian Mitchell, who worked as a lawyer. Due to Josephine’s job, the two moved to Dallas, Texas in 1970, where Josephine met Joseph Day Mitchell, who was also a lawyer; the two married in 1975 and Elizabeth took her stepfather’s surname.
