In 2021, Scarlett Johansson filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, alleging Disney breached her contract by distributing the highly anticipated superhero thriller Black Widow on Disney+.
The lawsuit claims the film was released simultaneously on the service and in theaters, which violated an agreement between the star and the company. According to the lawsuit, Johansson agreed that his salary for the film would be based largely on the film’s box office performance.
