Whereas Shazam! Fury of the gods is almost there, black adam The theatrical release was a huge success with the launch of Dwayne Johnson’s character finally flying through the skies of the DC Universe. While he openly encourages Henry Cavill’s return as Superman in the franchise, it may seem difficult for the actor to work with Zachary Levi on Shazam! as he spoke about his dislike of the series.
While the original plan was to introduce the character in Shazam! himself, the actor convinced studios to let the two characters have their own stories that could see them grow apart in preparation for the two to face off at some point.

Dwayne Johnson didn’t like Shazam!
While Dwayne Johnson ultimately opted out of Zachary Levi’s DC Universe feature, there have been many hints and nods to Teth Adam’s status in the mythos. Black Adam and Shazam have been rivals in the comics for many years. The story of black adam delves into the title character’s tragic past, showing how he rose from slave to champion of the Kahndaq nation and is now a major figure in the DC Universe. Although Johnson’s solo film focused on the legend of Shazam, there was no prelude to a showdown with Billy Batson. Future movies could start setting up this showdown now that DC Studios, led by James Gunn and Peter Safran, has launched.
Although the latest rumors indicate that the actor might not like the idea of Safran being the co-CEO of DC Studios. Both Shazam! the films were produced by Peter Safran and it has been suggested that Dwayne Johnson doesn’t like them as much.
“Safran has to convince all the other filmmakers…and Dwayne Johnson’s thinly veiled disdain for Shazam means he probably doesn’t like the idea that his boss is now the guy producing ‘Shazam.’ Safran is quite diplomatic, so I think he will succeed, but it won’t be easy.
It might seem like Peter Safran and James Gunn might run into some trouble merging the two stories after the arguments the two had.

What could the future hold for Black Adam and Shazam?
Nothing has been said officially and so there’s not much to speculate beyond how the DCU plans to join the worlds of black adam and Shazam! As of November 2022, DC Studios has yet to decide whether or not to pursue this storyline for DCU movies and television programs. If Johnson had a so-called distaste for Shazam!this could have been how he felt then rather than how he feels now, depending on the fictional storyline.
Dwayne Johnson himself has talked about the two heads eventually colliding, however, it’s not yet confirmed how or even when this encounter will take place. Although this disgust has never been public, fans can also hope that the two protagonists will have a harmonious relationship.
Shazam! Fury of the gods will be released in theaters on March 17, 2023.
