‘They just said, ‘Well, go ahead then”: GI Joe Star Sienna Miller was humiliated by ‘extremely powerful’ Broadway manager after demanding pay to match her male co-star

The gender pay gap has been a hot topic since the early days of Hollywood. GI Joe star Sienna Miller shared her experience when a Broadway executive told her to “kiss my ass” when she went to ask for equal pay.

The actress also revealed that the late actor Chadwick Boseman helped the actress out of her profits as a producer when they shared the screen together.

Sienna Miller is an American-British actress known for various films and series. The actress worked alongside Bradley Cooper in American sniper (2014) and is currently associated with Anatomy of a Scandal (2022). The GI Joe actress shared her experience of the gender pay gap that had been ingrained in early Hollywood seeds.

Talk to MillerVogue, the actress said she was once told to “kiss my ass” by a “extremely powerful” Broadway executive during his early days playing in New York.

“I said to the producer, who was extremely powerful, it’s not about the money – it’s about fairness and respect, thinking they’d come back and say, ‘Sure, sure. “. But they didn’t, they just said, ‘Well, fuck off then.'”

Sienna Miller also said she felt extremely embarrassed over the incident and had to ask the executive for more money, but the injustice did happen with the actress. She later described this incident as one of the “defining moments” of her life, as she realized she had every right to be subsidized for the work she would have done as well.

Sienna Miller and Chadwick Boseman shared the screen together when 21 bridges was released in 2019. Following the death of Black Panther actor, Miller sent his deepest condolences and revealed that Chadwick Boseman helped her during the pay disparity in 21 Bridges.

Chadwick Boseman has taken a pay cut from his salary so Sienna Miller can get his salary to match the actor’s. The Lost City of Z the actress described the move as “extraordinary” and carry on,

“That kind of thing just doesn’t happen,” she continued. “It’s just unfathomable to imagine any other man in this town behaving with such kindness or respect… There was no ostentation, it was, ‘Of course I will.’ bring to that number because that’s what you should be paid.'”

Chadwick Boseman was prematurely removed from this mortal world in 2020 when the 43-year-old actor lost the battle with cancer. Sienna Miller was last seen as Sophie Whitehouse in Anatomy of a Scandal (2022) and although the limited series was a huge hit with audiences, Netflix turned down a second season.
