Topher Grace and Dane DeHaan set to appear in Madame Web

The MCU did it in Spider-Man: No Way Home by resurrecting Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus and Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, and it turned out pretty awesome! Bringing the iconic villains back into a movie is one hell of a movie attraction!

This model seems to have been noticed by Sony, as a new rumor has emerged online. Sources suggest intriguing details about the Green Goblin and Venom in Ms Web.

A second chance

A new rumor suggests that Venom and Green Goblin from Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 are set to appear in The Madame Web respectively due to multiversal shenanigans.

Venom was portrayed by Topher Grace. In the infamous Spider-Man 3, directed by Sam Raimi, which received positive and negative reviews at the same time, similar to how Dane DeHaan’s Green Goblin was the poorest character in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, whose character was poorly written and without any development or compelling cause, Grace’s Venom and Dane’s Goblin were essentially reduced to goofs and have since become a joke.
But I guess things have changed and they need to be given the opportunity to get back to their respective parts and show the audience that the writing – not them – was what really got them into trouble.

The theatrical failure of Morbius and the constant criticism it received from critics and fans may have caused Sony to take a step back. The upcoming Madame Web film, however, is set to rectify the situation for the SSU, and given that there are reports of two familiar characters returning, it might have a chance.

Sony has done a commendable job maintaining secrecy surrounding the production and development of Madame Web. Little information has been released about the upcoming film, which will star Dakota Johnson in the lead role.

Tahar Rahim would have played the villain of the film. However leaked set photographs cast him as Ezekiel Simsa character who, in the comics, had skills identical to Spider-Man.
