If there’s one death in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that preceded an actor’s actual death, it’s the death of T’Challa at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. He eventually comes back to life after Thanos’ instantaneous effect is reversed, but is later confirmed in Black Panther: Wakanda forever‘s synopsis that he finally died.
King T’Challa’s death remained ambiguous, and that was something that the Wakanda Kingdom wasn’t able to handle very well. Black Panther’s mourner, who is also her son in the film, is Angela Bassett’s Ramonda, and the actress is being praised for stealing the show in Wakanda forever.

The What’s love got to do with it the actress, a film for which she was last nominated at the Oscars, will have to bet on how the members of the Academy will receive her Black Panther: Wakanda Forever performance as Queen Mother of Wakanda, Ramonda.
Although a Best Actor Oscar sounds appealing, Bassett’s role in the film is that of a supporting actress, so fans are going to have to make do with that. But hey, a nod to the Oscars is still a nod.

But from what can be observed on Twitter, it seems that opinion is divided on the prospect of an Oscar victory for a “popcorn” movie, let alone a performance by an actress from support-
She’s a great actress. But no one should win for popcorn movies

All support is not lost-
Bassett should be named. His performance is breathtaking. Wakanda Forever is a very powerful film. Completely validates Disney’s decision not to recast the role of Chadwick Boseman so soon after his death. Turns out it was better for the cast and crew, as well as the story.
