If there’s one death in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that preceded an actor’s actual death, it’s the death of T’Challa at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. He eventually comes back to life after Thanos’ instantaneous effect is reversed, but is later confirmed in Black Panther: Wakanda forever‘s synopsis that he finally died.
King T’Challa’s death remained ambiguous, and that was something that the Wakanda Kingdom wasn’t able to handle very well. Black Panther’s mourner, who is also her son in the film, is Angela Bassett’s Ramonda, and the actress is being praised for stealing the show in Wakanda forever.

MCU fans have been pushing hard and long for one of their biggest idols, Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr., to rightfully claim the prestigious Best Actor Oscar. It’s been a constant request since the MCU picked up the pace on a path to franchise success in the early 2010s.
But fans might finally get a taste of the sweetness of an Oscar win, and they’ll have to wish Black Panther: Wakanda Forever starring Angela Bassett.

Bassett plays T’Challa’s grieving mother in the 2018 sequel Black Pantherwho must also take responsibility for leading his people and defending Wakanda against outside forces.
