‘Did I Kill You Already?’: Ant-Man 3 Trailer Reportedly Omitted Kang the Conqueror Menacing Scott Lang, Teases Avengers Ending

by Ryan Coogler Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theaters in a few weeks. The long-awaited release will also be followed by the much-hyped third installment of the MCU’s Ant-Man films – Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The content looks very promising, with the new trailer released earlier this week.

The trailer starts off on a light note with people hilariously confusing Scott Lang with Spider-Man, and a minute later we’re shown the vastness of the Quantum Realm. At the very end is a line that might not ring the same bell as the first teaser footage shown in July of this year. What does it mean?

What was shown in the first footage of Ant-Man 3 in July?

Marvel Phase 5 will officially begin with the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania early 2023.

Fans who attended San Diego Comic-Con held in July this year should be familiar with the very first images of the upcoming film, which have been associated with the announcement that the film will be the first project released from MCU Phase 5.

The footage was shown in Hall H where tons of Marvel fans gathered and were treated to an interaction between Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang and the villain of Quantumania, Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors.

In the clip shown, Rudd’s character warns that Majors’ character has “made a big mistake”, further revealing that he is an Avenger of the time-traveling entity. A cold response follows, Kang responding

“Are you an Avenger?” Did I already kill you?

This surely made fans cringe after the possibility of Scott Lang’s death rose with this line. It’s apparent that Kang came from the future through time travel after speaking those words, pointing to a possible future where Lang is murdered by the powerful Marvel villain.

But the recently released trailer seems to suggest otherwise.

What the new Ant-Man 3 trailer reveals and what it could mean

The recently released trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania shows us the first glimpse of an unknown part of the Quantum Realm and what Jonathan Majors’ Kang The Conqueror looks like in the upcoming film.

On top of all that, there was a notable change from the first images from the film shown at SDCC in July. A dialogue change is shown in the new trailer at the very end, and it gives us a whole new plot where the execution of one or more Avenger members is possible in the near future of the MCU.

This time, Kang the Conqueror says an entirely different line of dialogue than Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang. Majors character asks Lang-

“So what’s it gonna be, Ant-Man?”

The now omitted line was a threat to Lang’s existence, but this new line of dialogue appears to threaten to kill one of the living Avengers. Who do you think will target Kang the Conqueror in the mighty superhero team?

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is slated for a theatrical release on February 17, 2023.
