It’s been 11 years since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2 hit theaters in 2011. David Zaslav, the new CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, would focus more on franchises like Harry Potter and Superman.
His statements, however, seemed to dissolve the program currently underway. fantastic beasts frankness since he does not consider them as equivalent to the Harry Potter franchise.

“We are really going to focus on the franchises. We haven’t had a Superman movie for 13 years and we haven’t had a Harry Potter movie for 15 years.
Although the calculation is completely wrong since Steel man that was 9 years ago and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2 was 11 years ago, the point was considered. Currently running fantastic beasts The franchise hasn’t been too successful recently due to the redundancy, changing and replacement of actors and the controversies that JK Rowling finds herself in.

Many people have supported David Zaslav for completely ignoring the fantastic beasts frankness while some people felt quite annoyed by the remarks. More and more people said they didn’t want another Harry Potter movie and that Warner Bros. Discovery should instead focus on original content.

The recent revival of Harry Potter The franchise comes after the fact that Robbie Coltrane, best known for playing Hagrid in the Harry Potter The franchise recently passed away at the age of 72. It could be a gesture for David Zaslav to pay homage to the late actor or just a nostalgic feeling for people to watch. Either way, it looks like people will be hearing more about Harry Potter and Superman soon.

In the statements mentioned above, David Zaslav also mentioned the (now) infamous author of the Harry Potter series, JK Rowling. The author got into controversy when she tweeted anti-trans tweets for which she received a strong reaction. Many actors from the Harry Potter the franchise spoke out against the creator, which was the reason for less magical content in recent years.
David Zaslav mentioned the “potential” to do something with the Harry Potter author JK Rowling “moves forward” during the company’s third quarter results. In the same way Harry Potter, Chef David Zaslav also mentioned Sex and the City, The Lord of the Rings, The House of the Dragon, and, Game of thrones. Stating that franchises generated the majority of Warner Bros. Discovery, the president said they would continue to work on those.
According to sources from Variety, there are currently no discussions with JK Rowling regarding a Harry Potter film in development. The wizarding world (which includes the fantastic beasts franchise) is also on hold since their last film Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets didn’t work as well as expected. Partly the reason is Mads Mikkelsen replacing Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindlewald for Warner Bros. Discovery had terminated their contract with Depp due to Amber Heard’s infamous defamation lawsuit.
