As such, he enjoys a wide following of fans around the world. But fans are not happy with his existing projects. They want to see him in another beloved franchise, Game of Thrones. Henry Cavill’s list of acting credits includes Sherlock Holmes in the Netflix series Enola Holmes, Superman in the DCEU, Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher (that he recently left), and more. But fans also want to see him in House of the Dragon. Specifically, they want to see him play a Targaryen. For months, fans have created artwork of Henry as various Targaryen characters who have yet to appear on the show.
But what does Henry Cavill think of going to Westeros and riding a dragon? This was asked of him by Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. The actor replied:
“I think it would be nice to be in Westeros, really. But I don’t think there’s a place for me there. To be fair, when I was watching House of the Dragon, I was like ‘J ‘feel like a lot of these guys could make really good Witchers.’
It’s certainly true that white-haired Targaryen actors could easily fit into the world of The Witcher. Watch the video below at around 34:40 min.
What characters do fans want Henry to play in House Of The Dragon?
Aegon the Conqueror and his sister-wives Visenya and Rhaenys Targaryen
According to fan rumors and fanart, it looks like people want Henry play Aegon the Conqueror. King Aegon Targaryen the First conquered the Seven Kingdoms and made the Iron Throne the swords of his enemies. He rode the dragon Balerion, the Black Dread, which was the largest dragon in the history of Westeros. Another character fans would love for him to play is Maegor Targaryen.
Maegor Targaryen was the third Targaryen king and the first to succumb to madness that would affect the line of dragon riders. It was said to have a large frame with huge arms. Maegor was also known to be a skilled warrior. But he was best known for being a cruel ruler.
Both of these characters are perfect for Henry Cavill if he gets the chance. And we have to say that Maegor Targaryen’s physical build specifically resembles Henry’s tall frame. As such, playing either king will be a great match for him.
