While nothing is certain what exactly happened at said lunch, sources say the meeting was about Henry Cavill. Superman sequel, indicating Spielberg’s apparent involvement in the project.
Nolan being at the helm of things when it comes to the film isn’t something entirely unexpected, considering he was one of the producers on the 2013 Steel man and has a lot of experience producing and directing DC movies. Spielberg is known for directing some of the most successful and critically acclaimed films of all time, so his take on things would be more than welcome in the superhero franchise. Not to mention that DC fans already seem thrilled with his involvement in man of steel 2so the American filmmaker definitely has the stamp of approval from the public.
However, nothing has been confirmed on this yet, so only time will tell if Spielberg will actually take over the Superman sequel or not.
