The recent takeover of James Gunn and Peter Safran as co-CEOs of DC Universe has turned the tide for the studios as well as Warner Bros. Discovery, giving the franchise a direction it has been waiting for. Gunn also said on Twitter recently that the two will be very focused on what fans ask and want, promising the biggest story they’ve seen from DC.
There had already been news from Warner Bros. Discovery looking for directors for its next film line-up, with man of steel 2 and how the studios seem to be going for Justice League 2. Although the director’s post was filled with hope that perhaps Zack Snyder would return, rumors have it that it could be the exact opposite.

Director Flash Could Direct Justice League 2
In recent reports, Andy Muschietti is said to be in talks with DCU and WBD about directing. Justice League 2 after leading The flash. Although this is just speculation, there have also been rumors that David Yates will take over for Man of steel 2. Both parent projects were originally the works of Zack Snyder. Whereas Justice League was later directed by Joss Whedon, man of steel 2 is still looking for a director, much like the sequel to Justice League.
There has been no confirmation yet, however, James Gunn had assured fans that a plan was in the works, and with it, the directors too would be confirmed soon enough. Zack Snyder, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to be returning to the franchise even after all the whispers. Andy Muschietti is among the many names that are in talks, but it is his name that is rising the most.

Justice League 2 and the issues it faced
Even before the release of the first part of the film, Justice League 2 had already been announced by WBD. However, the first film suffered a series of problems, with original director Zack Snyder having to abandon the film, forcing Joss Whedon to take his place; to the film which didn’t do well in theaters, forcing fans to create entire petitions for WBD to release Snyder’s version.
In the same way, the flash also faced one hurdle after another with the growing controversy surrounding lead actor Ezra Miller. Even though it was announced that he would not be returning to the role, the film would still be released because of all the effort and money put into it. Justice League didn’t hit theaters until 2017, and its reviews made it difficult to think of a second installment in the series. On the face of it, the idea is still in the works, but no director has been confirmed yet.
