‘It Makes Me Rethink Stunts’: Ryan Reynolds Hints Deadpool 3 May Not Have Many Badass Stunts, Concerned About His Health As 46-Year-Old Actor Prepares For 4th Child With Blake Lively

Dead Pool 3 is a done deal now and there’s no stopping James and Wade’s upcoming clash in an R-rated setting. But a new update from Ryan Reynolds may have put a damper on this match’s epic as it seems a bit unsure as to what stunt work he would need to do to get there. Indeed, the 46-year-old actor is even more worried about his fourth child with Blake Lively.

Well, the fear is real! Reynolds starred in action movies year after year. Even in the last 5-6 years we’ve seen it in movies like The Hitman’s Bodyguard, 6 Underground, red notice, The Adam Projectand many others in addition to dead Pool franchise. So, starring in those many action movies has got to have an impact on anyone, no matter what. Although you don’t have to worry about waterfalls in Dead Pool 3 because he has every chance to be as great as before.

Why Deadpool 3 Could Still Have Big Action

The advantage of playing this character is that more often than not, Reynolds has to stay in a fully masked costume. And that means he could easily get stunt doubles to do most of the tough stuff for him. He previously admitted that his stunt work had been reduced by moving from dead Pool at Deadpool 2. So while he will be involved in a few stunts, being in the costume for long periods of time would allow him to escape rigorous stunt work. And with the professionals handling the action, we can be certain of better fight sequences.

Deadpool was never really a problem. The main one was still about Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, as the actor was quite vocal about stunt work and the hours he had to spend in the gym to stay in peak physical condition. Even at the age of 54, he returned to the hard yards. But now the good thing for him is that he will mostly have to be in his comedic costume this time around. Even though he would be determined, we should still expect the stunt doubles to take over for him in half of his streaks as well. In all, Dead Pool 3 is in good hands.

When Deadpool 3 begins production

In a separate interview on The Jess Cagle Show, Reynolds also gave a promising update for the filming of Dead Pool 3 as he says:

“Production should start, hopefully just before the summer. But the shooting is the shortest and easiest part. Then it’s the lead-up, the preparation, the writing. The shots are quick, and then you have the editing process. This is where the film is really shot, it’s the editing room.

This summer 2023 production window is totally perfect as director Shawn Levy and co will have over a year for the post-production stage. Dead Pool 3 should arrive on November 8, 2024.
