Since the release of his last film Barbaric director Zach Cregger has expressed his desire to work on a DC project. The American actor launched himself into the cinema with The whitest kids you know and made his directorial debut with the film 2022 Barbaric. The horror film ended up being a major commercial and critical success and fans are curious about his future plans as a director. Although the director has expressed his desire to work on a Batman spin-off, the studio hasn’t said anything about it so far.
The actor-director said he wants to meet with DC Studios CEO James Gunn to discuss his story. Cregger said he was working on the storyline, which is set in the DC Universe. Following his statement, fans started discussing which character might be introduced by the Barbaric director.

Zach Cregger wrote a screenplay that takes place in Gotham City
Speaking about his future plans with directing, Zach Cregger shared that he has no plans to do a sequel for Barbaric. However, he said he is currently working on an original horror. The director also shared that he’s looking forward to exploring more genres as he’s already worked on a script that’s set in Gotham City.
“There’s a script I wrote before Barbarian. This is happening in Gotham City,” said Zach Cregger. He further stated that working on this script was his favorite thing. However, he later shared that he didn’t tell anyone at Warner Bros. or DC. But he hopes that one day he will have the opportunity.
The Guy with Kids star then shared that it would be amazing to work on the script if given the chance. DC Studios hasn’t said anything about Zach Cregger working on a future film. But fans have started discussing the best movie for Cregger’s DC debut.

DC fans wondering if they would finally get a Nightwing movie?
DC has planned a night wing movie for a long time. The studio first announced the film in 2017. The film was to serve as an origin story for Dick Grayson, aka Nightwing. Chris McKay has been announced to direct the film.

Warner Bros. also revealed that the script for the film has been completed. However, the studio did not provide any further updates on the film. In June 2021, director Chris McKay said the film could still happen but the studio wanted to focus on other major projects.

“They had things they needed to do, and I think they found their way, with their recent successes and the things they plan to do now,” McKay shared.
Warner Bros hasn’t officially canceled the film. As the film is still one of the upcoming movies in the DC Extended Universe, fans are asking when they would see the DC superhero in action.
Zack Cregger has revealed he’s been working on a script based in Gotham City. However, he still hasn’t revealed which character the story follows. Now the Destroy star has become a beacon of hope for DC fans, who expect him to work on a night wing film.
Neither Chris McKay nor Warner Bros. have said anything about the Nightwing movie’s departure or cancellation. So, fans can expect to see the movie in the future.
