Green played cricket for Subiaco-Floreat Cricket Club while growing up in Subiaco, Perth. At the age of 10, he started participating in the U13 league in the 2009-2010 season. His rapid improvement allowed him to enter WACA freshman at age 16.
Ahead of the 2016-17 Sheffield Shield season, Green was granted a rookie contract with the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA), largely due to his average of 82 runs per innings and 20 wickets in eight league games. national under 19.

On 10 January 2017, Green made his A-list debut for the Cricket Australia XI against Pakistan during the country’s visit to Australia. He then made his first class debut for Western Australia in the 2016-17 Sheffield Shield campaign on February 10, 2017.
He took 5/24 in the opening innings to secure Sheffield Shield’s youngest five-wicket carry. On January 13, 2019, he played his first Twenty20 game for the Perth Scorchers in the 2018–19 Big Bash League campaign.
Originally an all-around bowler, Green switched to batting after suffering from several ailments. His breakthrough performances against Queensland in the 2019-20 Sheffield Shield were 87 and 121.
