In fact, he continued the role of Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s Witcher series because he loved the games from the source material. And now the actor can’t stop raving about a new video game adaptation.

For those uninitiated to the phenomenon that was Netflix’s Arcana, it’s an action-adventure anime series that follows sisters Vi and Jinx as they grow up in a town called Piltover. The show explores themes of poverty, civil unrest, military power, human vices, and more, set against a fantasy steampunk setting.
Arcane dominated social media discourse in 2021 for its fantastic writing and animation. And this year it won four Emmys, including Best Animated Program. Several major personalities have sung his praises, and now Henry Cavill has joined that list as well.

In an interview with BBC Radio 1’s Ali Plumb (film critic), Cavill said it was Plumb who recommended the anime video game adaptation to him. Speaking about the show, he said:
“Yes, I really did [enjoy Arcane]! I’m so glad you told me, because when you said it, I immediately came home, and I was like, “Well, Natalie, this guy at work told me I should look at Arcane.” And she said, “Oh, I’ve heard some very good things about it.” I couldn’t stop looking at it, and it was really late, and Natalie was like, “Okay, we should probably go to bed,” and I was like, “No, no, no, no, no, no, I have to keep watching.” And she said “Yeah, okay, I’m with you, we should definitely keep watching.” That’s amazing, and I’m so grateful that you brought this to me, because I might have otherwise missed.

Henry Cavill has always been clear about his love for comic books and video games. The Superman the actor, who is back in the DCU, previously shared that he loves acting the witcher series and is also a fan of the Mass Effect and Warhammer franchises. In fact, he specifically stated that he had played Witcher 3: Wild Hunt two and a half times in total!
Additionally, the actor is known for building his own PCs, which has gone viral for. So Cavill knows his games and coming for him is praise for Arcane.
