Anjelica Huston is set to appear in the John Wick spin-off movie Ballerina.
According to Hot Mic podcast hosts John Rocha and Jeff Sneider, Anjelica Huston has joined the cast of Ballerinathe next John Wick spin-off with Ana de Armas. Houston’s Ballerina Casting takes place the same week as the additions of Keanu Reeves and Ian McShane, who reprise their roles as John Wick and Winston Scott respectively.
Anjelica Huston made him John Wick in-universe debut in the third entry in the popular action series, playing director, criminal organization leader Ruska Roma. During one of her scenes in the film, Huston is seen directing a ballet, performed by orphan girls who will presumably become assassins.
Ana de Armas plays the main character of Ballerina. The John Wick spin-off revolves around a deadly woman who uses her skills to get revenge on the hitmen who killed her family. The script for the film comes from Shay Hatten, the writer behind Parabellum and army of the dead.
Whereas Ballerina does not yet have a release date, John Wick: Chapter 4 is currently slated to hit theaters on March 24, 2023. Reeves and McShane are directing the Chapter 4 cast, which also includes Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Laurence Fishburne, Lance Reddick, Clancy Brown, Marko Zaror, Scott Adkins, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson and Rina Sawayama.
In addition to Ballerina and John Wick: Chapter 4Lionsgate is also working on The Continental, a spin-off series that explores the origins of Ian McShane’s Winston Scott. Colin Woodell plays Winston, with a supporting cast that includes Ayomide Adegun, Peter Greene, Mel Gibson, Ben Robson, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Jessica Allain, Mishel Prada and Nhung Kate. The series is set to premiere on Peacock in 2023.
