Hugh Jackman Reportedly Acted As Bait For Deadpool 3 To Introduce The Real MCU X-Men As Marvel Plans More Red Herrings Like Evan Peters’ Quicksilver

Among all Phase 5 and Phase 6 films, Dead Pool 3 is arguably the most anticipated project besides the next two Avengers movies. It’s a No coming home level crossover event that could secure another billion dollar outing for the MCU and it will be a first for an R-Rated Marvel movie. That’s because it brings back Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in order to team up (and fight) with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool. What if this was a ploy to introduce the real X-Men into the MCU?

Marvel brought Fox’s X-Men actors into the MCU using different ideas. Evan Peters’ Quicksilver acted as a red herring as it was just turned into a simple “Bohner” joke. Patrick Stewart’s Professor X only entered to have his neck broken. So should we be worried about Wolverine as well? Hugh Jackman has said many times that unless it’s the MCU, Logan was his final outing as Wolverine. And now he himself called Reynolds to come back. Ideally, one would think he would return Dead Pool 3 and stay until Avengers: Secret Wars. And, Marvel would give us something badass involving Wolverine and Deadpool together. But a new rumor suggests characters like Jackman’s Wolverine are simply acting as bait to present the MCU’s real X-Men in a very different way.

A new rumor from insider That Park Place suggests that Disney may be planning to swap multiple races x-men characters. Their goal is to reduce the number of Caucasian characters in the superhero team. And all of the Fox X-Men characters used in the MCU are called “best bait” because Disney somehow pretends to listen to fans, but they pretty much do what they actually want!

Here’s what the scoop suggests:

“Fox actors are considered ‘prime bait.’ On the face of it, this “best bait”, when deployed, will likely be FALSE interpreted by some fans as Disney “listening to fans”. It’s not. It’s a cynical gambling game, which also has a side to silencing those licensed product manufacturers (“see, see, we gave you a white male hero for a few minutes, so what are you complaining about? “).

This rumor should obviously be taken with a grain of salt, but the MCU casting trend seems to be going in that direction.

Race-swapped mutants?

We’ve seen more diverse and gender-swapped characters since the end of Phase 3 and throughout Phase 4. Even Eternals had 3 gender-swapped characters, and 5 of the 6 legacy OG Avengers characters were female. Other than that, Black Panther became female much earlier than expected. Overall, many female leads suddenly entered the mix at once alongside other diverse characters. So we should expect the same with the X-Men where Disney would have a greater chance of representation by adding various race, gender, and LGBTQ mutants.

It’s obvious Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine isn’t going to stick around for long. He’s supposed to hand over to a new guy, but let’s just hope Marvel does him justice, just like they did with Garfield and Maguire.
