Ezra Miller’s first cinematic solo outing as The Flash suffered a number of setbacks, ranging from several director changes to production during the COVID-19 pandemic. Whereas the flash is locked and slated for theatrical release in 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery hasn’t revealed any new footage from the film in months, and specifically since the 2021 DC FanDome event.
Unreleased promotional art for the flash surfaced online last weekend, giving fans a new look at Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen in full costume. Artwork shows Barry’s upgraded outfit for the upcoming film, including his comic book-accurate gold boots. Take a look below.
A recent report revealed that Warner Bros. Discovery already has a script for a potential sequel to the flashwritten by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, the man behind both Aquaman movies with Jason Momoa. However, Ezra Miller has made headlines over a series of arrests and criminal charges. The actor is currently seeking treatment for mental health issues.
Directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay penned by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash is inspired by the Flashpoint comic book storyline, which followed Barry Allen as he navigates an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and drawn by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint dramatically changed the status of the DC Comics Universe and led to the launch of all 52 new titles.
Besides Ezra Miller, the flash also features Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as two distinct versions of Batman, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora-Ul, and Sasha Calle as Supergirl. Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso and Luke Brandon Field are also on board in undisclosed roles.
