back in Avengers: Infinity War Thanos sacrificed Gamora on the planet Vormir to get his hands on the Soul Stone. This scene proved to be quite heartbreaking for many viewers, especially since Zoe Saldana’s character was only at the beginning of a budding but long-awaited romance with Quill played by Chris Pratt. Gamora came back in Avengers: Endgame but was a different variant of the character, time-traveling.
Now, with the upcoming release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Zoe Saldana is ready to continue playing the elite fighter. While fans are excited to see Gamora back in action, this might be the last time they see the character, with the end of the GOTG franchise. However, the actress gave fans some hope!

In an interview with Variety, the actress Zoe Saldana answered the long-awaited question – is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 his latest MCU movie? To that, Saldana replied that while she couldn’t say anything right now, she would definitely not miss the iconic green makeup, if that was the case.
“I can never say no to anything, but that green makeup? I wouldn’t be mad if it didn’t happen again. I miss Gamora but I do miss the 3:30 a.m. calls and the five-hour makeup sessions and visits to the dermatologist afterward.
The only thing Saldana will miss is how she impacted generational Marvel fans through Gamora. She keeps coming back to Marvel Studios, not least because of the bond her character has established with audiences. There is surely some truth in her words, as the public reaction to Gamora’s death speaks volumes about the space she created in the hearts of fans. She further added that young audiences shouldn’t be overlooked for liking something that others think is “immature or cheeky.
“Any time you know that 8-year-old or that father and mother or those generational fans who remind me that what I did was special to them, that doesn’t make me be cynical about Marvel. This makes me realize that young audiences should no longer be neglected. They also have feelings and if something impacts them, just because we consider it stupid, immature or cheeky doesn’t mean it’s not special.
As of now, nothing is confirmed on whether or not Saldana is staying in the MCU. However, the immense love she has for her audience might be keeping her from leaving the MCU anytime soon. Even though GOTG Vol. 3 is the newest addition to the franchise, it would be foolish to think the team won’t return. Who knows, maybe fans will be able to see the uniquely reunited heroes return in Avengers: Secret Wars?
