MCU Phase 4 was a valiant attempt to bring something new to fans. They tried long-form episodic shows and animated series. But it didn’t quite work as well as Kevin Feige would have hoped due to poor writing. So all eyes are now on Phase 5 which is supposed to take a deep dive into the multiverse. And one of the films that everyone has their eyes on is Deadpool 3. Interestingly, Channing Tatum is now rumored to be joining the film. Why is this interesting? Let’s explain.

According to Twitter scooper Daniel Ritchman, Deadpool 3 lead actor Ryan Reynolds is courting Channing Tatum for Deadpool 3. The two actors have been friends for a long time. And even starred together in Reynolds’ 2021 film, Free Guy.
This news follows Hugh Jackman joins the cast from Deadpool 3 as Wolverine and Dafne Keen would be back like X-23 also. It was also reported that the film will be bring back Owen Wilson’s Mobius and VAT. Filming for the film is set to begin in early 2023, with some reports even indicating January 2023.
What role could he play in the film?
Gambit
Our first thought was that he could play the X-Men character Gambit. It’s long been reported that Channing Tatum has been tapped to play Gambit in a solo film for the character. And during the promotional tour for his film, Dog, the actor revealed that he came very close to making the film. But it was eventually dropped when Fox and Disney merged.
So it could be that Ryan Reynolds finally gets the actor to play the character he was meant to play. After all, the streets are buzzing with news that Deadpool 3 will be about Wade Wilson heading to the MCU and encountering the Foxverse X-Men along the way and The Fantastic Four characters.
The presence of the TVA who could follow the mercenary with a mouth before he wreaks more havoc on the multiverse lends credence to the multiverse rumors. Nothing is officially confirmed yet, but the cast of Deadpool 3 looks interesting.
