Jenna Ortega as the White Tiger
“White Tiger” is a title adopted by a number of prominent individuals. The first was Angela Del Toro, who debuted in Daredevil (Vol. 2) #8 in 2004, and the second was Ava Ayala, who debuted in Avengers Academy #20 in 2011.
Hector Ayala, who first appeared in The Deadly Hands of Kung Fu (1975), was the first individual to wear the coat. Although he lived in New York and was the first Latino superhero, he tragically perished in a Daredevil comic in 2003.
The character’s powers are granted by the White Tiger Amulet, which grants its users enhanced skills such as martial arts proficiency, increased strength, speed, and agility, among others. The White Tiger frequently works closely with Spider-Man, Luke Cage, Daredevil, and Iron Fist.
Charlie Cox will be joined by intriguing superhero White Tiger in the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again.
According to sources, Jenna Ortega has been cast by Marvel Studios in the role.
This all makes sense given the character’s past as a street-level hero and Daredevil ally.
White Tiger’s Connection to the Greater MCU
The origins of the mystical amulet of K’un-Lun, the mythical city of Iron Fist, are inextricably linked to the mantle of the White Tiger.
The character’s skills also share many similarities with those of Moon Knight, a recently debuted MCU hero. Ava Ayala, one of the protagonists to wear the mantle of the White Tiger, had to struggle with several instances where the Tiger God actually inhabited her body.
Although this does not exactly translate how Khonshu uses moon knighthe falls into the same category of avatar of a god, similar to what the Black Panther is to Bast.
Disney+ currently plans to release Daredevil: Born Again, in the spring of 2024.
