‘It’s One For The History Books’: Hold on to your childhood as Raven’s Home Season 5 finale brings back T’Keyah Crystal Keymáh as Tanya Baxter

We live in a time when nostalgia has become a major part of cinema on the big and small screen. Hollywood has been trying to cash in on nostalgia for a few years now with projects like No coming home, Matrix resurrections, the Arrowverse shows on The CW, and many more. And now, The Raven’s House does the same by bringing back T’Keyah Crystal Keymáh as Tanya Baxter.

Raven and Tanya Baxter

The Disney channel aired The Raven’s House since 2017. He brought back Raven Baxter a decade after It’s so raven ended. And now that we’ve reached the final of The Raven’s House season 5, Disney Channel gave us a whole Baxter family reunion that lasted 17 years! Friday’s episode “Bridge over the Troubled Girl” brought back T’Keyah Crystal Keymáh as Raven’s mother, Tanya Baxter, and fans were all ecstatic about it.

The return of Tanya Baxter

Victor, Raven and Tanya Baxter

The last time we saw T’Keyah Crystal Keymáh’s Tanya Baxter was in 2005 in It’s so Raven third season. Keymáh had to leave the show halfway through, so her character Tanya was written out while being sent to law school in London. While Raven was extremely happy to be reunited with her mother, Victor, on the other hand, reacted in a way that few would have expected. He wasn’t entirely thrilled because he hadn’t properly spoken to his long estranged wife of a decade. On top of that, the episode took an interesting turn as Raven had a vision of Victor telling Tanya, “I can’t live like this anymore.”

Raven was afraid that her father wanted to separate from her mother. But apparently his interpretation of the vision was totally off the charts as Victor revealed he actually wanted to move in with his wife in London. He said, “I can’t live like this anymore. We have been living apart for years. I thought it was fine with me, but I saw you today and realized it wasn’t. Her decision was a bit of a surprise, but it gave a heartfelt ending to Season 5.

Even if Victor moves to London, we can be sure that he will return. He won’t stay there as long as when The Raven’s House season 6 was announced at this year’s D23 Expo, actor Victor Rondell Sheridan’s return was also confirmed. So it will be interesting to see how he comes back after making this massive decision in Season 5.

The Raven’s House Season 6 started production in October, so it is expected to arrive in the last quarter of 2023.
