Now that wakanda forever has been in theaters for two weekends, Marvel has officially unmasked the new Black Panther on its social media pages. A new poster for the film shows Letitia Wright’s Shuri as Black Panther, following in the footsteps of her brother T’Challa, played by the late Chadwick Boseman. Check out the poster below.
Letitia Wright debuted as Shuri in the first Black Panther film before resuming the role of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. The Black Panther The sequel sees Shuri recreate the heart-shaped grass to become the protector of Wakanda, who faces the threat of Namor (played by Marvel Cinematic Universe newcomer Tenoch Huerta) and the Talocans.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever recently crossed the $500 million mark worldwide and is expected to continue dominating the box office until the launch of Avatar: The Way of the Water in December. The film also stars Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Martin Freeman and Angela Bassett.
Disney’s official synopsis for the film reads: “In Marvel Studios’ ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba), fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of the death of King T’Challa. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and chart a new course for the kingdom of Wakanda.
Directed by Ryan Coogler from a script he co-wrote with Joe Robert Cole, wakanda forever stars Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Tenoch Huerta, Martin Freeman and Angela Bassett.
