It’s been about 5 years since a Star Wars movie hit theaters. Previously it was speculated that this delay was due to the President of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy takes her time green light to films. But a new rumor says she’s actually not the real culprit, she’s the boss of Disney. Scroll below to read the full report.

The president of Lucasfilm isn’t the only one to blame, this guy is

Bob Chapeck

Scooper and youtuber John Campea said it wasn’t Kathleen Kennedy who quit making Star Wars movies, but in fact former Disney boss Bob Chapek. According to him, it was he who gave the directive to stop making films about the galaxy far, far away. He said:

“Other people also heard that, that the lack of Star Wars movies coming out was actually a Chapek directive. Chapek said there would be no movies coming out at the moment.

This information corresponds to what is happening. It is possible that Chapek’s main goal was to develop Disney+. And that’s why he ruled it all Star Wars content rather than opting for big theatrical releases. But now the situation is different.

Chapek was replaced by Bob Iger. And this sudden change is said to be due to Chapek’s mismanagement of Disney. That includes star wars or not is unknown.

John Campea added that Kathleen Kennedy may not be directing Lucasfilm for long. But he says Bob Iger’s return has nothing to do with his eventual departure. In fact it is the opposite. Rather, he said that:

“If anything, Bob Iger’s return solidifies Kathleen Kennedy because Iger is an ally of Kennedy. Amidst all the chaos and upheaval, Iger is going to want to stabilize things pretty quickly. And the last thing I think Iger wants to do right now is start replacing those studio heads as well.

He seems so sure of Kennedy’s departure that he said:

“I believe her current contract takes her through 2025. Personally, I don’t believe Kathleen Kennedy gets there or surpasses her. I don’t think she will go anywhere immediately.

Kathleen Kennedy’s future remains to be seen for now as there is no official information about it. But what do you think? Is his departure imminent? Or is it just a rumour? Let us know in the comments below.
