Fans around the world were mesmerized by the three seasons of Black Lagoon. The desperate wait for the fourth season began eleven years ago. It’s been so long since its premiere on April 9, 2006.
The response to its arrival was splendid from fans and critics praised the series. The makers were not yet able to show a green flag regarding season 4.
Black Lagoon is a Japanese anime series adapted from the manga series of the same name by Rei Hiroe. The series was directed by Sunao Katabuchi and produced by the famous Madhouse.

The first two seasons were 12 episodes long titled Black Lagoon and the third season Black Lagoon: Roberta’s Blood Trail came to a sudden stop after airing only 5 episodes.

The manga premiered its first episode in 2006 and the second season followed just four months later in the same year. Season 3 was released completely oblivious to any trend after 4 years in 2010.
Hence, we cannot predict the arrival of the next season by any chance. But the series performed well beyond Japan earning fans all over the world. It’s been 11 years and as a reply to numerous queries on the series the release date is rumored to be around the end of 2022.
Is There Any Point Waiting For Source Material?
In 19 years the creator has published 11 volumes of the series that have more than a hundred chapters in it. 9 volumes from it were adopted in the 3 seasons and the other 2 volumes of the manga series are waiting to be published.
The producers, Madhouse Studio, are left with no choice but to stop the series. A new script should be written to extend the series for one more season.

Black Lagoon Plot
The series deals with a wealthy businessman Rokuro Okajima who gets abducted and joins a group of outlaws called “Lagoon Company.” The man decides to throw away his salaried, boring, and silent life.
He joins the pirate mercenary group called Black Lagoon centered in a fictional city named Roanpur in Thailand. Rokuro is now Rock with the other team members Revy famously known as Two-Hands and Benny who is an electronics specialist and navigator.
The story goes by Rock getting used to his new life in the city full of mafias and mercenaries.
