How Old Is Liam Neeson? Qui-Gon Jinn Has Been Confirmed To Return In The New Star Wars Series!!

Qui-Gon Jinn has been confirmed to return in the new Star Wars series, The Mandalorian. The Hollywood Reporter reports that Liam Neeson will reprise his role as Jedi master Qui-Gon Jinn, who appeared in 1999’s The Phantom Menace and 2002’s Attack of the Clones. This would not be the first time Neeson has reprised his role as Qui-Gon Jinn, having returned to voice the character for Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.

The Actor Also Voiced A Sith Version Of Qui-Gon In The Animated Film Star Wars

The actor also voiced a Sith version of Qui-Gon in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars – The Lost Missions. Neeson is also expected to appear in one or more episodes of Jon Favreau’s upcoming live-action television series The Mandalorian, star Pedro Pascal (Kingsman:

The Golden Circle) as a lone gunfighter during the era of the original trilogy. Other cast members include Gina Carano (Fast & Furious 6) and Carl Weathers (Predator). No release date has been announced for The Mandalorian yet, but we can expect it sometime later this year or early 2020.

Neeson Played The Role Of Qui-Gon

Neeson played Qui-Gon Jinn in 1999’s Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace and 2002’s Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. His character died at the end of both films, but he was brought back as a Force ghost in 2005’s Revenge of the Sith and had a small cameo in 2017’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Speaking to Variety, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that the actor would return to the galaxy far, far away as part of a new Star Wars TV show from Jon Favreau. “He’s an integral part of the franchise,” Kennedy said. “So yeah, he’ll be returning.”

Favreau previously announced plans for a live-action Star Wars series last year when it was revealed that he would write and executive produce it alongside Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson. While little else is known about the project (including its title), Favreau has said that it will explore iconic characters who haven’t received their standalone films yet (such as Han Solo).

The Mandalorian Show

The actor played the Jedi Knight in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace and Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones but did not appear in any prequels’ sequels. Now, however, Neeson has revealed that he will make an appearance in Disney’s upcoming show The Mandalorian — which is set to debut on 16th November — and it seems as if he has been working behind-the-scenes with J.J. Abrams (who is also producing The Mandalorian) for some time now. “I’m going to do it,” Neeson told Digital Spy when asked if he would be returning to his Jedi role. “I think we’re gonna do it next year.”

Abrams later confirmed that Neeson would indeed be reprising his role as the Jedi Knight during an interview with Collider: “I mean obviously we were talking about [bringing him back] because it was such a fun character,” said Abrams. “We didn’t know if we were gonna get him or not.”
