How Was The Marilyn Monroe Dress Got Damaged?
The collector Scott Fortner’s Instagram account goes by the name of Marilyn Monroe Collection; Marilyn Monroe Collection posted a number of photos of the dress. The pictures show rips on the back clasp of the dress and also missing gems and sequins.
As per the Instagram post, the latest images took on June 12, while the previous photographs were taken in 2016.
Some Monroe experts have been “disappointed” to see Kardashian wearing the “extremely fragile” gown at the Met Ripley’s Believe It or Not! A museum that loaned the dress to the actress and now displays it at its Hollywood site has previously told the Post that all precautions were taken to prevent any harm.
In a post-gala announcement, Ripley’s brand said, “This was not an easy choice for Ripley’s, but Kim Kardashian has continued to demonstrate the highest respect for this occasion and historical dress.”
“She has become a custodian and added to its history, from meticulous study to observing restrictions such as no body paint, just wearing the dress for the short red-carpet appearance, and making absolutely no modifications.” The museum also said that the dress was in “no harm. “
